Steve Foster | Senior Pastor

Steve was born in Green Cove Springs, FL. He is a graduate of Southeastern Bible College (BA), New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Dallas Theological Seminary (S.T.M.) and Biblical Theological Seminary (Doctor of Ministry). In 1991, he married Liz and they have four boys: Nate, Noah, Jonah and Joshua. Steve became the pastor of CBC in May 2010 after spending seven years in New Orleans as youth pastor at Berean Bible Church (1990-97) and twelve years in New Jersey as associate pastor at Sayre Woods Bible Church (1998-2010). Steve enjoys reading C.S. Lewis and Tim Keller, teaching church history, playing golf, watching LSU football, eating a good cheeseburger (ketchup only),  and going on dates with his wife. He blogs occasionally at and has published a book: Heelcatcher: the Story of Jacob Revisited for Those Who Are Anxious, Tired, and Struggling to Make Life Work.

Zach Benton | Associate Pastor (Youth, Young Adults, Discipleship)

Zach serves as our associate pastor, overseeing our youth ministry, young adult ministry, and adult discipleship. Zach was born in Stuttgart, Arkansas (the duck and rice capital of the world). He received a BBA in Finance from the University of Central Arkansas and an MA in Christian Leadership from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Biblical Spirituality from Southern Seminary. He and his wife, Kari, have been in youth and college ministry for over eight years and love helping youth and young adults grow in their faith. Zach's favorite music includes Ben Rector, Shane & Shane, Alex Velte, and much more. Zach and Kari have one daughter, Ruth.


Ken Drake | Worship Pastor

Ken serves as Worship Leader and Director of the CBC Chorale. Ken has post graduate work, graduate and bachelor degrees in music from Louisiana State University, Furman University, and the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Ken has served over 45 years in church music ministry. He has also worked in professional musical theatre. Ken and his wife, Kathy, have been married for 36 years and have two daughters. Ken has a heart and passion for worshipping his Savior, Christ Jesus, and teaching, equipping the body of Christ to also offer their worship in their everyday lifestyle and through all aspects of the arts. Ken has been greatly impacted by the teaching and writings of Ken Gire, Warren Wiersbe, Don Wyrtzen, and David Jeremiah. Ken also loves traveling, cooking, eating great food, gardening, snow and water skiing, LSU sports, attending Broadway musicals, and watching a good movie with a BIG glass of milk and plate of chocolate chunk cookies!

Danny Loe | Evangelism

Danny Loe moved to Baton Rouge from Texas in 1966 and later graduated from LSU, where he became a Christian in 1972 through Cru. Upon graduation, he joined Cru staff and eventually served overseas for 40 years in the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, and Hungary. He has taught as a Cru staff member at the East Asia School of Theology (Singapore), and then for the Institute for Biblical and Theological Studies (East Europe). He is currently the coordinator of international ministries for the apologetics ministry, Ratio Christi, and has a vision for serving with CBC in the area of outreach. He has a Th.M from Dallas Theological Seminary and a D.Min from Talbot School of Theology. Danny and his wife, Becky, have four children.

Joy Atchison | Children's Director

JoyAnn Atchison has been involved in Children’s Ministry for over 30 years. She is a graduate of Cairn University in Philadelphia, PA with a degree in education and Bible. Joy and her husband Marshall have two young adult children. She is responsible for the nursery through fifth grade programming and is excited about partnering with parents to raise children who love Jesus. Joy and Marshall relocated from Philadelphia PA to Baton Rouge 2 years ago and are enjoying the warm Southern hospitality and great food!

Carol Krumm | Office Administrator

Carol, a native of Baton Rouge, is third born of four kids. She and her late husband Carl, of 41 years, have three grown daughters and one granddaughter. Carol is a retired employee of BellSouth/ATT with 35 years of service. During that time, she was a telephone operator, secretary and an administrative assistant and enjoys using her learned skills to help run and maintain the church office. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to Christian music and watching old TV shows and movies.
